How we build your sound
From raw lumber to a badged, numbered cabinet — every Westbound build goes through the same six steps, by hand, in our Huntington Beach shop.

Step 01
Selecting the wood
It starts at the lumber rack. We hand-pick maple, cherry, red oak and walnut for grain, resonance and character. The wood isn’t hidden behind paint or tolex — it’s the star of the cabinet.
Step 02
Cutting & joinery
Each panel is cut to exact dimensions, then joined with miter or finger joints. They look good, and they’re strong enough to outlast every gig you’ll play.

Step 03
Assembly & glue-up
Clamps go on, joints are checked for square, and each joint cures fully before we move on. No staples, no particle board — just solid wood and glue.
Step 04
Cutting the baffle
The speaker baffle is cut for your driver — 8, 10, 12, or 15 inches, single or paired — and the cabinet is sized around your chassis.

Step 05
Drawing & stitching
Each design is drawn, traced onto the grill cloth, then embroidered by hand in the hoop. Arrows, swallows, longhorns, toucans — or your own artwork. This is where woodworking meets textile art.
Step 06
Finished, badged & ready
The cabinet is finished to show the grain, fitted with a leather handle and grill cloth, and given its badge — model, wood, embroidery and serial number. Every joint and every stitch is checked before it leaves the shop.

What drives us
Craftsmanship first
The best gear is built by hand. Every cabinet reflects a deep respect for the woodworking tradition.
Builder & wholesale friendly
One cabinet or fifty — we work with shops, wholesalers and individual builders alike. Your chassis, our cabinet.
Artisan detail
The embroidery isn’t an afterthought — it’s the signature, turning a speaker box into a conversation piece.
