From raw lumber to finished cabinet – every WestBound amp is handcrafted with care, precision, and a little bit of soul.
Selecting the Wood
It all starts with the lumber. We hand-select premium hardwoods – oak, walnut, and other tonewoods – from local suppliers. Each piece is chosen for its grain pattern, resonance, and character.
The wood you see in our cabinets isn’t hidden behind paint. It’s the star of the show – stained and sealed to let the natural beauty speak for itself.
Cutting & Joinery
Precision is everything. Each panel is cut to exact dimensions, then joined using traditional dovetail and box joints. These aren’t just beautiful – they’re incredibly strong, ensuring your cabinet lasts a lifetime.
We measure twice, cut once, and let the joinery do the talking.
Assembly & Glue-Up
The pieces come together in the glue-up. Clamps go on, joints are checked for square, and the cabinet takes shape. This is where patience matters – we let each joint cure fully before moving on.
No shortcuts, no staples, no particle board. Just solid wood and wood glue doing what they’ve done for centuries.
Finishing & Embroidery
Once sanded smooth and stained, each cabinet gets its grill cloth fitted. But we don’t stop at fabric – every WestBound cabinet features hand-embroidered designs on the grill cloth.
From swooping arrows to hand-stitched birds, the embroidery is what makes each cabinet truly one of a kind. It’s where woodworking meets textile art.
Ready to Rock
The finished cabinet is fitted with a leather handle, mounting hardware, and given a final inspection. Every joint, every stitch, every surface is checked before it leaves the shop.
What you receive isn’t just a box for your amp. It’s a piece of functional art, built to project your sound and turn heads at every gig.
